Career Tech Supervisor
Mr. Butch Starnes
Mr. Starnes has been serving the Marshall County School System as the Career and Technical Education (CTE) Supervisor since 2014. Prior to this role, he dedicated 32 years to the Madison County Technical Center, where he spent 20 years as the Marketing Education Co-Op Coordinator and the last 12 years as the Career Technical Director/Principal.
His journey in career and technical education began in the fall of 1967 when he took his first CTE class at Marshall County High School, marking the start of a lifelong commitment to the field. He is a proud graduate of Auburn University, where he served as President of Auburn Collegiate DECA and was a candidate for National Collegiate DECA President. His contributions to the organization earned him induction into the National DECA Hall of Fame.
Mr. Starnes furthered his education at Alabama A&M University, where he obtained both his master's degree and AA certification. Throughout his career, he has held numerous leadership roles, including serving as President of the Huntsville Jaycees, an organization with 700 members, and as President of the Alabama Career Technical Association in 2011. He was also nominated for the CLAS Leadership Award in 2011, recognizing his dedication to educational leadership and student success.
