Mr. Patrick Smith is the Career Technical counselor at Marshall Technical School. We are very pleased to have Mr. Smith working with our students. Due to his extensive background in teaching, law enforcement, public relations and being a father, it is only fitting his next step in life would be to become a high school counselor.
Mr. Smith graduated from Athens State with his bachelor's degree in political science and history in 1994. After working in law enforcement and writing for a newspaper, he received his master's degree in Secondary Education from Jacksonville State University and began his career as a teacher in 1998. In 2003, he received his Ed.S. from the University of Alabama in Secondary Education/ History.
Mr. Smith, always having a place in his heart for helping the children in his classroom, decided to continue his education and completed his master's level certification in school counseling in 2008. By fulfilling his counseling dream and one of being a leader, he continued his education once again by completing his master's level certification in instructional leadership in 2015. Mr. Smith supports our students in all leadership events with instruction and direction.
Mr. Smith is a family man residing in Albertville with his wife Angie of 20 years and their two sons. He is an avid duck hunter who enjoys spending time with his family and worshiping with his family at Douglas First Baptist Church.
Our students enjoy his,” Go get ‘em”, attitude and he employs an excellent working atmosphere with the faculty, students and parents. Marshall Technical School is pleased to have him as our Career Technical counselor.
